1 metric ton = 1,000 kg. Enter any value to convert metric tons (t) to kilograms (kg), or use the table below for common values.
kg = t × 1,000
Example: 10 t = 10,000 kg. To convert the other way, use t = kg × 0.001.
| Metric Tons (t) | Kilograms (kg) |
|---|---|
| 1 t | 1,000 kg |
| 2 t | 2,000 kg |
| 3 t | 3,000 kg |
| 4 t | 4,000 kg |
| 5 t | 5,000 kg |
| 6 t | 6,000 kg |
| 7 t | 7,000 kg |
| 8 t | 8,000 kg |
| 9 t | 9,000 kg |
| 10 t | 10,000 kg |
| 15 t | 15,000 kg |
| 20 t | 20,000 kg |
| 25 t | 25,000 kg |
| 30 t | 30,000 kg |
| 40 t | 40,000 kg |
| 50 t | 50,000 kg |
| 75 t | 75,000 kg |
| 100 t | 100,000 kg |
| 250 t | 250,000 kg |
| 500 t | 500,000 kg |
| 1,000 t | 1,000,000 kg |
The metric ton (tonne) is 1,000 kilograms. It is used for vehicles, freight, harvests and emissions. It is lighter than the imperial long ton (1,016 kg) and heavier than the US short ton (907 kg).
The kilogram is the SI base unit of mass, defined since 2019 by the Planck constant. Body weight and most goods are measured in kilograms worldwide.
Use the formula kg = t × 1,000. For example, 10 t = 10,000 kg.
1 t = 1,000 kg.
Use t = kg × 0.001. 1 kg = 0.001 t.
