How it works

Formula

Days = (End date − Start date) ÷ 86,400,000 ms

Dates are compared as calendar days in UTC, so daylight-saving changes never add or remove an hour. Business days count Monday to Friday and do not account for public holidays.

Frequently asked questions

Is the end date included?

By default no — the result is the number of days from the start date up to the end date, the same way you would count nights of a stay. Tick the checkbox to count both the first and last day.

How are months counted?

Months are counted as calendar months. From January 31 to February 28 is 28 days but less than one full month, because the day of the month has not been reached.

Are public holidays excluded from business days?

No. Holidays differ by country and region, so business days only exclude Saturdays and Sundays.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes. February 29 is counted in leap years because the calculation uses real calendar dates.
